Description of the activity
The product certification body is responsible for verifying product conformity to the certification requirements, voluntary technical standards, or other regulatory frameworks. Product certification is based on trust in the specific manufacturing process. This assumption implies the extension of this conformity over time.

The validity of a product is certified by the certificate of conformity issued by the accredited certification body that performed the assessment.
What the certificate guarantees
The product certificate guarantees that the certified product complies with a standard or specification. Depending on the type of certification scheme adopted by the body, the certified product conformity may concern a single production element, a single batch, or all batches produced after the certification itself. To ensure that compliance is maintained over time, the body may conduct conformity assessments (tests and/or inspections and/or audits) after issuing the certificate.
What the certificate does NOT guarantee
The product certificate does not guarantee the organization’s legal compliance or that the product/service conforms to parameters not listed in the reference specification. It also does not guarantee that the company operates a certified quality management system.
